Fees, Terms and Conditions
  • My fees are 20 an hour; my minimum fee is 10 for a half hour search.

  • Additional charges such as copies of original documents, GRO certificates, photography permits, postage and packing etc. are all charged at cost to me.

  • There are no charges for me to visit places and archives in Norwich such as Norfolk Record Office, Heritage Centre, Norfolk Family History Society library, UEA library or any church or street in Norwich.

  • If your request entails travel to other places in the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, or beyond, I do have to charge travel expenses, but try my best to keep these to a minimum. Wherever possible, I will split travel expenses between two or more clients to lower the cost to the individual.

  • In the first instance, please contact me with your enquiry. I will carry out an initial assessment, completely free of charge, and then come back to you with my thoughts on how we might proceed. There is absolutely no obligation for you to commission any work from me.

  • However, if you would like me to proceed, we will then agree on a plan of action and a maximum search time for the work discussed.

  • Once I have completed the work (normally within 2-3 weeks), you will receive a full written report which will give details of all the sources searched and results found. All relevant entries will be transcribed in full and if you have requested copies of original documents, these will be posted out to you.
